New Website for Cygnet Family Law

This week saw the launch of the new website we have created for Cygnet Family Law, a law firm in Redcar. The website has been developed over a couple of months and provides a friendly yet corporate look that has been developed in close collaboration with our clients. We hope it helps them to generate new business.

The rest of the week saw us updating a number of sites for existing clients with additional functionality and attending another meeting of the Redcar Creatives Collective which looks at developing collaborative creative ventures in the area.

We also developed the prototype of a new site for a local firm of architects and expect to launch this in the coming week.

Stardom at Last

Well not really but last week we had a photographer in for a quick shoot to go with a piece about us in Wilton News. This is the Wilton Centre newsletter, which is also distributed externally, and will include a piece about us and our two French interns Matthieu and Guillaume who are working on side projects. All good publicity, or perhaps not if my photo is included.

This week also saw us at a meeting in Newcastle with partners from across the North of England in relation to the project Matthieu is working on. Whilst it is still early days we have agreed in principle to set up a new limited company to develop and launch this project.

We launched a couple of new sites for clients last week including Northern Tank Services, a company supplying and installing fuel oil tanks in Northern England and the Doctor Group who repair windows, doors, roofs and water leaks in North East England, including insurance work. We hope their websites generate plenty of business for them.

I seem to have brought a never ending cold back from Italy last week and can't shift it - obviously I didn't drink enough to kill all known germs, must try harder next time.

A short week last week

Last week saw a couple of meetings with potential clients plus further developing prototype designs for a couple of clients ...

... but mainly a trip to a snowy and freezing Rome for a cracking long weekend in a great city and watching England win their 2nd 6 nations game this season.

New Interns and E-marketing

This week our two new French interns, Matthieu and Guillaume, joined us to work on a couple of side projects we are developing with our partners. Matthieu will be working on aspects of a countryside access project that incorporates a web-based portal and Guillaume will be working on a web-based educational application that will see the prototype application launched whilst he is with us. Both came in on Thursday for their induction and will begin work in earnest next week. We are very happy to have both of them with us and hope their English language skills extend to my Teesside accent!

This week was largely taken up with SEO and e-marketing work for clients to boost sales and market specific aspects of their business. With the sudden cold snap, we launched a firewood logs campaign on Google Adwords for A and B Tree Contractors who are based in Newmarket in Suffolk and deliver firewood to Newmarket, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas. The campaign does not normally run but has been specifically timed to match the cold weather and led to a big increase in sales. Such a targeted campaign is a good way of limiting an Adwords budget and get a good return on investment. We're happy to discuss options with anyone who is interested in using Adwords to boost business - give us a call on 01642 438173.

The big news is, of course, England's Calcutta Cup win - a great defensive performance but still a lot to work on. I'm really looking forward to being in Rome on Saturday to watch Italy v England (which incidentally means the office will be closed Thurs - Sun) and hopeful of another victory. Now what do I do with Matthieu and Guillaume when France beat England?
